Samenvatting

Importance of water-availability in Mesolithic site location choices; Early meso sites mainly located close to fens ('thus must have contained water') and avoided rivers (unreliable water sources during early Holocene), later on more sites along rivers (m & mainly late meso) as these became more reliable water sources.Remarkable for a well surveyed region: trend towards more sites (8 early meso; 12 mmeso & 24 latemeso)
